Poem: "Apparition"

Apparition
By: Eve Estelle

I see you there -
Wherever I've been before.
Every time I smile
At the face that's in my head,
But I haven't been you
In a long, long while.
Time flies, always I know
That you can never stay;
And with a snap of the finger,
Just like that, there you fade away.

  1. It's eerie but cozy. It makes me wonder what in the world is going on in the narrator's head? And why do they not seem disturbed by it? I like it. :)

    1. I love those two words to describe this, eerie and cozy. Interesting thoughts, there! My intention while writing this was sort of like.. a memory. Whenever the narrator visits someplace they've been before, they see their old, past self in their head.

      Thanks for commenting, Ashley! I love hearing another's thoughts on a piece. :)

  3. Ahh I love this! I agree with Julia, the little rhymes here and there are quite nice and serve to tie the poem together.
